Congregational Communication from Dr. David Bowser

Dear Members and Friends of Salisbury Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene,

What a joy to worship with you this past Sunday and to sense the presence of the Lord in the morning service! I am grateful for your sensitivity and openness to hear the voice of God as He speaks. It is always a joy to be with you and to worship together.

The reason for my letter is to communicate two very important items of information as we continue to prayerfully seek God’s direction for Cross Pointe’s future.

First, I want to urge you to make plans to be in attendance on Sunday afternoon, November 3rd at 5pm as I share the results of the Congregational Survey as well as the Pastoral Profile. There will be a visual presentation of the findings from the Congregational Survey and an opportunity for each person to receive a copy of the Pastoral Profile. At the conclusion of the meeting, you will be asked to suggest names of individuals who meet the Pastoral Profile and who may be qualified to serve as Cross Pointe’s next Lead Pastor.

Secondly, I want to commend Cross Pointe’s Church Board for their stellar work in considering the matter of selecting the next Pastor. This is work that has required additional commitment of time and energy to bring us to this point. As a result, I have asked the Church Board to continue to serve until the next pastor is identified, selected and installed. What this means is that there will not be an election of a new board at the time the board election is usually held. The current board will continue to serve until next year’s election. This will enable there to be continuity as we continue to work together.

God is at work and it is a privilege to prayerfully seek His will and purpose for Cross Pointe. I am asking that you continue to pray and ask God to direct the paths of His church.

Please be assured of my continued prayers for you, for the church and for the Salisbury community. May the Lord continue to bless your efforts!
Grace and Peace!
